Our little blog has been sadly neglected of late. This time of year seems to always be a bit hectic: goats to shear (got that done last weekend - whew!), yard work that seems never-ending, and much preparation for the next festival: Oregon Flock & Fiber in Canby, OR at the end of September. Somewhere along the line, I seem to have missed those “dog days of summer”. Maybe adults don’t get to have those until they’re old enough to retire? My profession involves production-type of work, so I have “go-go-go!” ingrained in my brain. Lately I’ve been focusing on losing that go-go-go thing when I get home, rather that keeping it up, full-tilt. Not much success yet, but will get there!
With that, I need a break! And so does Susan. Actually, we’re talking BIG BREAK! My mom and I have been planning a trip for the past 4 years (ever since we got home from a 3 week wonderful trip in England). Where are we going, you ask?

This is at Slea Head, Ireland! My other hobby is genealogy and I’ve traced my Irish ancestry back to a small townland in County Monaghan. I use the term “Irish ancestry” a bit loosely as they were transplanted Scots! We’ll be in Dublin a couple days, then driving (yikes!) about the western shores of Ireland. We’ll be gone for two weeks and will be back in time for OFFF. Stop and see us at our booth - we will probably sound a wee bit funny! I’m hoping to catch a bit of an irish lilt whilst there.
